Orlando Rock

Olando Rock

By William C Kauffman

The way I came on to this book where the prime word is coincidence, is very much in keeping with the story line of this book.  I was at an art fair in midtown Minneapolis looking for a vase to put a dried flower collection in.  The vase and flowers would be a gift for a friend.  As I am completing the purchase I got to talking to the booth owner and we discovered that we were each authors.  The conversation concluded with me buying his book.

The storyline of the book could almost be a auto-biography as the author actually is a Potterer and works the Art Show Circuit across the country.  This is the backdrop of the book.  The book takes on a mystical clairvoyance which coincidently I was reading a book on Edgar Cayce, a renowned  clairvoyant of the 20th century.  Why am I reading on this subject you would ask.  Well upon moving back to Minneapolis from Oklahoma City I was in the process of rediscovering my spirituality.  A spirituality that embraces the specter of out of body experiences through meditation.

The three prime characters includes an artist/clairvoyant that expresses her visions through her art.  The interpreter of her art would clearly see she is communicating something that just happened to her boyfriend, the second prime character.  This character would be miles away and she knew exactly what he was experiencing. The third prime character also an artist on the Art Circuit tour is best friends with the first prime character and finds her self making advances, making this a love triangle of sorts.  This would be tension point one.

Tension point is a murder mystery that plays out through a corrupt sheriff, the love triangle players and the son of the first prom character, who is involved with drug dealers.  His involvement brings in the drug dealers who kidnap the son.  To complicate things, the sheriff believes that the first character has something to do with the murder.    How this all plays out is a fun read where mysticism and clairvoyance was part of solving the mystery.
